In this article, I will present my interview experience at Facebook.

Firstly, I want to inform you that I will respect the NDA and will not share confidential details.

A recruiter reached me

It was the day before my birthday when I’ve received a message on LinkedIn from a recruiter telling me that I would be a good fit for a Cyber Security Analyst position at their office in London.

I want to mention that I have never applied for a role at Facebook or another company, but I said to give it a try, it could be really cool!

The phone screening

The interview process started by scheduling a phone interview with the recruiter that reached me.

The schedule was respected, I was called at that specific time and she asked me some basic technical questions which I was able to answer easily.

It took no more than 15 minutes.

After 4 days, I’ve received an email with instructions for the next interview, this meant that I’ve passed the first one.

The video interview

The next step was a video interview with a technical person who asked me some intermediate questions related to the role.

This one took a bit longer, something like 45 minutes.

The response arrived quickly after 2 days and it was good news.

So the next interview would take place in London.

Preparations

Everything was prepared in a very professional way including the flight and the hotel.

They booked a room for me at Radisson Blu Edwardian, Bloomsbury Street in London with breakfast included.

The flight took a bit longer because I had to fly Romania-Germany, change the plane, then Germany-UK.

Sincerely, the accommodation offered by Facebook can’t be compared to any other company.

The onsite interview

It was structured like this: three technical interviews, one behavioral interview, and lunch.

Every meeting lasted 45 minutes.

The technical interviews were somewhere at an intermediate level, excepting one which was really hard.

The behavioral interview focused on my background, career development, and social situations.

I took lunch with an engineer and I was able to ask him more questions, also he made me a tour of the office which was pretty cool.

Conclusion

The response came after 10 days and it was … Curious?

I concluded that Facebook is one of the fewest companies that offers a very flexible program for its employees in order to stimulate their creativity and motivation, resulting in bigger accomplishments.

Overall, it was a very beautiful experience from which I could learn so much.
